I’m Kara Hicks, and I help people buy and sell houses. A lot of people consider real estate to be a sales job, but for me that’s simply not true.

I’ve been in real estate since 2014, so I’ve had the opportunity to work with all types of clients across the Charleston metro area. Before becoming a realtor, I worked in hospitality. The experience of providing a high level of customer service is what really prepared me for building a real estate career.

I run my business with a focus on the individual. I ask each and every client what their goals are, and then I help them develop and execute a plan to achieve those goals. Instead of trying to sell people on an idea, I focus on helping them achieve their ideal lifestyle through real estate investment and homeownership.

Clients come in all different shapes and sizes, and they all have unique needs. That’s why I focus my business on finding each person and family the perfect home to fit their lifestyle.

I’m a graduate of the College of Charleston and a full time resident of Charleston since 2012. I love staying active in the community and helping to make Charleston a wonderful place for everyone to live. I’m a member of the City of Charleston Homeownership Initiative Commission, the City of Charleston Commission on Women, and several committees with the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me at a networking event, supporting the local restaurant scene, or oversharing photos of my pets.
